Image update - Dreambox 7080 HD

Installation via web browser

You need:

• Dreambox connected to the router/AP by cable
• A router/AP with active DHCP server
• A browser (Internet Explorer,Microsoft Edge, Opera, Firefox, Safari, Chrome)
• A recent Image with extention *.tar.xz or a backup Image with extention *.tar.gz

Install firmware

1. Bring the Dreambox in the stop mode of the Rescue Loader
   • via GUI
     • Menu - Standby/Restart - Recovery Mode
   • via power button
     • switch off the dreambox on the back and hold power button - switch on the dreambox with power button pressed until on Display hostname or IP address will be displayed
   • via CLI (Command Line Interface) with Telnet or SSH
     • connect to dreambox - login to your dreambox - type following command to-the-rescue and press enter
2. Access the Rescue Loader with the web browser (check on TV for the IP address or hostname)
3. Choose Firmware upload
4. Click browse to select the Image to install
   • Disable the marks for Backup current settings before flashing and Restore settings after flashing
5. Start the upload with Go!
6. After the successful installation, click Click here to reboot to reboot the dreambox.
7. Have fun with the configuration of the new image.
